We couldn’t be more proud to announce that two out of the twenty nominees for the FERD Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award are part of the Impact Hub community: congratulations Folkelig and Pitstop!
Folkelig are one of our earliest members and have been growing steadily in their mission to reduce social inequalities in public health across the country. The company was founded by Kathrine Marthinsen and her business partner Ingrid Fardal in 2013, when they were just 25 and 27 years old. Today, Folkelig runs several important programs for inclusion and health, including:
- Gategym, an inclusive outdoor training program for local neighbourhood communities,
- Smaksverkstedet, an after-school cooking program for kids, and
- Matjungelen, a program comissioned by the Norwegian Ministry of Health to teach school children about nutrition and sustainability.
Pitstop are previous winners of our innovation program Impact Challenge and work for inclusion amongst youth. They assist nonprofit businesses in communication, teaching, activation and job training for vulnerable youth.
